Third Annual Athenaeum Invitational

Chris was one of 9 artists invited to this year's Athenaeum Invitational underwritten by TTR Sotheby's International Realty.  Her work, Deliberate Passage, won best in show and she was awarded a $1500 prize.  The show was juried by Athenaeum Gallery Director Twig Murray and prize winners were selected by Zoe Charlton, American University.

Second Annual Athenaeum Invitational

Opening Reception: September 25 from 4–6 pm.  Underwritten by TTR | Sotheby’s International Realty, the Athenaeum Invitational is a theme-based event featuring the works of both specially-invited artists, as well as works selected through a call for submissions open to anyone living or working in Virginia, the District of Columbia, or Maryland. A $1,500 prize for the best work is awarded to an invited artist, and a $1,000 prize is awarded to an artist from the open call. The show is juried by Gallery Director Twig Murray. Prize winners are selected by a noted art expert.

Together, a 54×54″, mixed media abstract painting on canvas was chosen for this show.  This will be the first time Chris' work has been seen at the Athenaeum in Alexandria, Virginia.

Rise Up! Group Show at the Strathmore Mansion

Rise Up! Group Show Opening Reception ~ The Mansion At Strathmore, Sunday, September 11, 2-4pm. My "Alive" painting, a 24"x 24" acrylic on canvas, was chosen for the NAWA juried Rise Up Group Show at the Mansion at Strathmore (10701 Rockville Pike, North Bethesda, MD 20852) which will run from September 10th through November 6th.
