Chris’ paintings are intimate expressions of her interactions with the natural world. She primarily works in oil but relies on a variety of mixed media to add depth to the two-dimensional surfaces she transforms. Her neutral palette reflects her love of stones, concrete, driftwood, shells and other subject matter while her gestural style echoes the energy she is exploring.

“Presence and intuition are the foundation of my painting process. I am inspired by the energetic connection I feel and the natural beauty I observe in and around my environment. With oil paint and other mixed media, I explore the peace I find in those connected feelings and observations. It is my hope to create evocative abstract compositions that convey positive energy to enhance a viewer’s surroundings. My practice is complete when I leave nothing off the canvas but the tension between the marks and painted spaces feels profound.”

Born and raised in New Rochelle, New York, Chris’ work continues to evolve in her new studio in Marco Island, Florida. After a successful career as a business executive and part-time artist, she has been focused full-time on painting since early 2019. Her paintings can be found in numerous private and corporate collections including that of Southern Methodist University, Phi Beta Phi in Texas, and The Silva & Edge Buildings in Maryland. Her work is widely exhibited, and she is currently represented by: Artful Sol Gallery; Exhibit by Aberson; Design Supply Shop; Huff Harrington Fine Art; Palette Home; and, Paloma & Co.
