New Work - The Gardner Colby Blue Series
Happy June to everyone and to those of you in SWFL like me - Happy Off-Season! At last, we can all meet at a restaurant again without a 2 hour wait!
It was a productive season of new work for me this year, especially since the bars and restaurants were off limits, LOL. One of the things I became aware of in the studio is that you can only learn something when you are ready to learn it, and that timing may come completely unexpectedly. I think this is because of presence. When being present in the studio, amazing things happen and not just to paintings but to me as an artist. As I become aware of the changes after they occur, I’m so surprised by them. The truth, I’ve found, is that the harder I try to force something, the more resistance I feel. But once I let go, new work can come together in unexpected ways.
